Egbert: Broderick is romantic in his own special way. I think I’d have to say that the most romantic thing he’s ever done was on our third year anniversary. I had to work that day, and when I came home, the house was awfully quiet, and I noticed Lil’ Cal waiting in the hallway with a note in his lap. Little did I know that he had set up a scavenger hunt around the hunt, with a different puppet holding a different clue. The last one was in the bedroom, where he had left a note saying that we would be coming back here after he met me at the restaurant where we had our first date. I was touched, to say the least. And there’s the simple things too, such as when he gets up with me at 5:30 in the morning when I get ready for work, even if it’s just long enough to say good morning and wish me a good day. The fact that he tries so hard is what means the most to me. It’s very sweet.
Bro: I try.
Egbert: I know you do, and that means the world to me.
Bro: The most romantic thing Egbert’s done for me was take me out on a midnight picnic to this stream that’s outside the city. You can actually see the stars out there without being blinded by city lights, so it’s kinda nice to just lie there and look up at them. And he brings dessert too, which almost invariably results in me getting a pie to the face because after three years I still haven’t learned jack about when to expect his pranks. But it’s okay because he’ll either clean it up for me or I’ll get him back by rubbing it off on his shirt or something. Anyway, we’ve kinda made it our thing now, try to go out to the river really late at night once a month and just spend some time together alone.
